Singaw Files POSTED AT 02:51 PM in speak Tomorrow will be the the first week celebration on the "singaw"(white painful area on the corners of the lips or in the gums) in my lips. Ang galing nga e, tatlong dots sila, trianggular ang shape. Sabi ng mother ko, lagyan ko raw ng asin. Not the iodized, ROCK SALT. I put one big crystal in each hole. Ang sakit ... automatic ng umagos ang luha ko. My mom told me that it's natural to feel burning sensation and she assured me that it will be healed really soon, if I put salt regularly. Thanks mom, until now I'm still suffering. To add up to my agony, my lips are turning so dry they start to crack! Ouch! naglagay na ako ng petroleum jelly kanina pero masakit pa rin. ang malas naman ng oral area ko ngayon. Huhuhu |

Ang Sakit ng Mata Ko POSTED AT 10:00 PM 7 AM: My mom woke me up. She asked why have I not waken up yet since I told her that I have another chapter of my thesis (the last, at last) to finish and I have to get up by three in the morning. Then I screamed in terror ... My Gosh! I have to rush things up, I have work in Sykes this 1:00 pm and the office is two hours away from home (I live in Bulacan, Sykes is in Gilmore, Quezon City). I jumped out of bed and went straight to our dining table and eat the first edible things I saw in the table. I had dried bangus, hotdog and orange juice for breakfast. For the record, I consumed all of them for only ten minutes. 7:10 AM: The laptop horror. I have five more pages to type. Just the conclusion and recommendation. no one is allowed to disturb me, or if one does, I'll kick him/her in the posterior (and then I'll eat my words if my mom or my dad disturbed me. that threat is applicable to my younger sister). I am praying that my writer's block will not terrorize me,, just now please. 8:30 AM: Finished at last. Do I have enough time to print this? Then my mom reminded me that I still have to return the laptop I've borrowed to my best friend Carmelle. Oh My Golly! I headed to our bathroom, took a shower. I asked mom to prepare my clothes for me (and she will remind me again of how responsible son I am.. OK OK, Sorry mom, I'm really in a hurry. I promise to be good. Wish me luck on my thesis, though). 9:30 AM: I hurriedly put all my books and clothes to my back page and travelling bag. And I kept the laptop and the charger and whatnots on its bag. And my mom also gave me a bag of dried bangus which I will give to my auntie in Sampaloc. As far as I know, I only have two hands ... but I have four bags to carry. 10:00 AM Went straight to Carmelle's house. My dad negotiated to one of the tricycle driver to drive me there and back. 10:30 AM Heading to Sampaloc. Traffic in Fairview 12:00 PM Sampaloc at last, Have to go straight to Sykes 12:50 PM At least I am not late. 1:00 Pm Still stuck in Module 10, I've been working this since Wednesday last week 5:00 PM Sa wakas Module 11 na rin!!! 9:00 PM My eyes really hurt. Maybe I have to take a rest 10:00 PM Uwi na 10 na e.. ang sakit na talaga ng mata ko |

Underrated Flick: Maging Akin Muli POSTED AT 02:53 PM in think  ![]()  After I saw Maging Akin Muli for the second time in Cinema One, I don't know what frigging word I could describe such enormouse beauty in filmmaking. The first time I saw it in IBC 13, that was December. I haven't managed to see its entirety then. Thanks to my regular channel surfing, my clicker brought me to a funny scene where a seemingly church choir suddenly transformed themselves into a loud rock band while singing "Hossana Hossana sa Kaitaasan" after Rev. Junjun (the character of Marvin Agustin) suggested that they should add drums. Of course, the senior churchdoers were distrubed by such type of music and even accused it as the music of the devil. The editing of that scene is so good, I ended out bursting into laughter. That instance of comedy has attracted me to finish the "mystery" film up to the end. Guess what, I already believed that it is a great film eventhough I haven't seen it in its entirety. Now that I already seen it from start to finish, I can easily tell that it is really one of the best films of 2005. (Noel Trinidad's character as the priest has this trademark that everytime he gives an advice to the deacon he will enumeate it one by one, numerically. Let me adopt his "mannerism" and let me explain why Maging Akin Muli is a great film) One - great performances by Marvin Agustin as Junjun, the deacon, Noel Trinidad as the priest and Sandy Andolong as the understanding mother of Junjun. Marvin Agustin's role here is his best performance in a film so far (many regard that Marvin Agustin is improving as an actor -- he was given a Best Actor trophy, his first award, for his serial killer role in the thriller, Kutob ... Haven't seen the film yet but I will someday) give him the URIAN Best Actor (come on, I have a feeling that the MPP will give the Best Actor award to Nathan Lopez as Maximo Oliveros... he's just a straight actor who took the role of a cross dressing teenager for crying out loud. His portrayal I may say is good but not that superb as that of Marvin's Junjun). Noel Trinidad's portrayal as the initially nosy priest is too realistic, I want to bang his nose after he told Marvin, "Don't lecture me about God dahil mas kilala ko ang Diyos kesa sa iyo!" That line, if thrown at me in the face, can bring out the monster in me. Two - my eyes have been lusciously fed by the magnificent cinematography. The clouds. The greens. The interiors of the church. Everything is well lit. Nice movements of the camera. One good shot: Marvin Agustin's lengthy speech explaining to his people how he has been uncertain on his vocation at some point but claiming that he really wanted to become a priest and he needed some help. That scene almost gave me tears! Not to mention the beautiful shots on the interior of the church where the film was shot (the church is in Pampanga, I don't know what church it is.) Three - Excellent songs. Superb scoring. Four - The story itself. I'm not a devout Catholic but the theme nailed me. The only thing that saddens me about this movie is that it was shown only once in a single Theater, in Gateway, where it premiered. To be honest, I never knew that such film exist not only if my clicker has chanced on it. I believe that only a few people have watched it, or at least knew it. After my sister and I have finsihed watching the movie m sister asked, "HOw come I've never heard this film when it was shown in theaters?" I told her that this wasn't shown in theaters at all, only shown in TV. So that made me continue thinking, does the fact that Maging Akin Muli never had a regular theatrical release made it not qualified to garner film awards? I wish that the fact that it is a movie - a very good one- will make the URIAN, Famas and other award-giving bodies give it a nod. Currently listening to: Sleeps with Butterflies by Tori AmosCurrently feeling: thesis mode |

My First Post POSTED AT 08:10 PM in seek I'm currently a programmer in-training at Sykes K-Pointe, talking about a feat I have never ever imagined as an IT student. Collected murmurs might get confused and tell me, "Uhmm... hello David are you nuts? You majored in INformation Technology for four stressful years and you never thought that the programming field will haunt you in the end..." Yes, that's true and I thought programming really sucks. I am a demented writer for crying out load and I will never trade in flowery terms and flowy words for syntaxes. In programming I felt so ... repressed. It's like my voice is limited to this and that. I'm sorry but I'm maybe wrong ... I'm starting to like it now that I'm fast approaching to my graduation. Isn't it funny?
Oh well, this post might turn bitin. I intend this to be this way...
Next time I'll post something which has much sense. I promise. this is my third blog and I created this during my work hours! So bad of me. Currently listening to: "In the Deep" by Katharine YorkCurrently reading: Developing Microsoft ASP.NET Web Applications Currently feeling: working |

for not giving Brokeback Mountain the top honors - and giving it to Crash, I'm much relieved now and perfectly I have moved on. Brokeback Mountain is unarguably a work of art. It's not that I say that Crash is not; I have seen all the movies nominated for Best Picture (even Good Night and Good Luck which was not really shown here in the Philippines, but what do pirated DVD's do?) and in my opinion, any of the four nominees is much deserving for the highly coveted price. Capote is astonishing and Munich is wonderful. GNGL may give you a coma during the first thirty minutes but it redeemed itself up to its finale, thus adjudging it very deserving to all the praise it has get. Crash has not really give me a chill, because I know I have seen this movie already sometime in the past. The style is like that of Magnolia, but much mediocre and the issue here is racism ... I believe Spike Lee has already made a movie about racism. Anyway, bury this issue.
